My First Bath!

Erik took his first bath today. His umbilical cord fell off on Friday. He needed a bath, we didn't realize how dirty his hair was until it was washed and all fuzzy again. He didn't even cry or get upset during the bath! The pacifier was in the other room, he was so content.

Auntie Amy loved Erik! Annika gave him lots of kisses on the head and petted Erik when he nursed.

Ava helped Erik keep the pacifier in. She didn't change any diapers this week, but she'll get her chance yet!!!

We went to visit Great Grandma and Grandpa Olson in Britt. They were happy to see us.

Grandma and Grandpa Olson seem to have the same expression on their faces each time I take their picture. They love babies and love Erik especially as well.

Daddy loves baby. Erik likes our bed better than the bassinet. Let's hope we use that information only for emergencies...

It was nice to get out of the house and out of our newly established routines. Luke starts his job on Wed. Then we'll find out what his schedule will be and how much he'll be home with us.

Erik is doing better with nursing. He is needing less supplementation with bottle these last few days. We'll have to weigh him in the USPS box and kitchen scale again when we get home.

Until next time....

The Petersons Visit and we go to BBQ at G Ma and G Pa Fenton's

We are weighing the baby. We are worried about his weight and his eating habits...He didn't loose. Pray we have better luck with nursing....

Kaiser just jumped up here to join us for a moment. He definitely gives the baby his space...

What a good little boy! Some people have been asking about his birth statistics...Erik Lucas John Fenton was born on 5.13.2010 at 1:51 AM. Weighing in at 8 lbs 11 oz and 21.5 inches long.

Auntie Cori, Keaton, Shelby came by on Sunday for a visit. Shelby was a good little helper.

Also stopped by Grandma and Grandpa Fenton's house for a quick barbecue. Had lots of good food. Joan made all my favorite salads- cucumber, potato, coleslaw.

May 18, 2010

No, Erik is not sitting up on his own as it appears. My hands are hidden under the burp blankie. He looks like such a little man. And VERY awake.
Erik LOVES his Daddy. LOVES LOVES LOVES. Daddy is good to soothe Erik. Daddy is also doing 50% of baby care. I am so thankful to have such a husband.

I couldn't get this picture to turn sideways... Sorry. He was very happy to be in his swing. This picture was taken on Sunday afternoon when we came home from the hospital.

I couldn't get this picture turned around either. We woke up after sleeping a few hours to find our son SQUISHED down in the bassinett. He was so fussy at bedtime that I elevated the head of the bassinett. I figured he was having reflux.
Grandma and Grandpa Olson look absolutely elated don't they?

Here we are preparing for our first walk together!

It was a short walk, but we couldn't avoid this beautiful day! We didn't need the emergency breast milk.... Kaiser behaved well next to the stroller.

Thanks Grandma Olson for the awesome Jogging stroller!!! It worked awesome!

More pictures if Erik&family

I wonder if you can see how furry his back is! This was a nice picture to take bc he is calm and it is cute!
This is when we were discharged from hospital. Lisa had to have a wheelchair bc she was being transported by a mayo clinic employee.
This is Baby Erik w/ his older brother, kaiser, looking on. He is wearing a Syttende Mai shirt on that his Grandma Beth made him. He was supposed to be hatched on the date of Norwegian Independence.

Baden Fenton holding Erik w/ the help of his father. Ryan and Tina came over w/ supper and help. It was nice not to have to figure out what to eat and just sit down and eat. Tina even loaded the dishwasher!
Rylee Fenton giving "Prince" Erik a kiss on the head. She named him prince before she came over, and everyone thought it was funny.

This is Kaiser and Eriks first introduction. Kaiser really didn't care too much, so no big deal. He has been a little quieter now that baby is home. I think he knows to stay quiet.
