What we've done recently!

My brother John and Amy, Ava and Annika came to visit the other day. We took a free "zoo" type trip to Oxbow park in Byron. Amy was gobbling very convincingly at an ugly faced turkey and Ava delighted in the horses who ate grass out of her hand. I liked the Prarie dogs and the badgers. It was also neat to see how big the Bald Eagles and the hawks were. It was really hot that day, too.

I'd like to call your attention to some of the details in this photo. This, as you can see is Kaiser, he is a smart dog. He lays in the sun just so so his little doggie eyes don't have to look into the sun. Also the sunlight pouring on to the carpet is at it's peak now. I like to see my plant shadows. I love my plants and my dog!

Luke swaddled our dog in the "baby" blanket. I bought that blanket special, for a "baby" because it had the cutest bunnies on it who are chasing carrots! My dog Kaiser....
Luke also took this photo of The Dog peering at him ever so stealthily. Maybe it was just because Kaiser didn't want to move because he was too comfortable.
We killed a snake.....again. I think it was in June when Luke spotted a snake in our yard. He assessed his bravery and decided that if our friend Kevin can catch a snake - then so could he. Luke caught him and somehow communicated to me to get outside and help decide on the dispositon of the snake. Luke thought to pin him down w/ the down spout tray (so he could be restrained) and I was in charge of the brick- as you can see on the left side of the photo. I humanely smashed his head with a spare brick that we happened to have lying around.
Mom and Dad came up on the weekend of Rochesterfest. We looked at the events in the paper and saw the balloon launch. I have never really seen balloons in person, up close. So I really pushed to go see these. They were so majestic. After we saw them off we went to the other thing I've really been dying to go to....the Breakfast on the Farm! You hop on a shuttle bus that takes you out to the place- pay $3.00 or something. You get Kris Kakes pancakes and cheese from Kraft, sausage from the pork producers and milk and real butter from the dairy association. That was a fun a.m. then we went back home and hit the pool later! We had a nice weekend w/ mom/dad!
